Corrective Exercises Lesson Explained
The Corrective Exercises segment uses the knowledge learned from the first sections of the course, putting it to work in easy-to-follow steps. As you will learn, the musculoskeletal imbalances that you will be taught to assess for, commonly lead to pain and dysfunction within the body. In order to eliminate pain and dysfunction, these imbalances will need to be corrected so balance to the musculoskeletal, respiratory and nervous system can be restored. This section gives the professional all the tools necessary to correct any of the issues addressed throughout the course and to help alleviate their client’s pathological issues.

Specific corrective exercise programs are offered to address musculoskeletal imbalances occurring in certain segments or areas of the body. You will learn balanced programs for each of these areas, such as a corrective program to balance out malposture in the head carriage and shoulder girdle, or different corrective programs to restore dysfunction in the lumbopelvic region, even a corrective program for common dysfunction of the feet and ankles.
What to Consider?
The techniques taught in this section build upon the assessments page in the previous section of the course, making the process user-friendly. The video lessons in this section provide professionals with corrective stretching, joint mobilizations and rehabilitation exercises for clients needing assistance with pain and dysfunction due to malposture and core related issues. You can also head back to the introduction at any time to gain a more in-depth understanding of the most common musculoskeletal imbalances.
These lessons explain the purpose of each exercise, stretch and mobilization and what they are meant to do, and why it helps correct the imbalance within the body. In essence, you will become an expert at understanding the how, the what and the why. Your clients will find a simple explanation of how pathology manifests, why it’s causing the issues they are experiencing and how it can be corrected, to be of great value. Having this knowledge will set you apart from other professionals in your field. This makes the assessment section particularly useful, as it allows the professional to skip around if there are areas that need more focus, while skimming areas that need less.
How To Further Use Correctives to Assess Yourself
The “Correctives” exercises should be completed before moving on to the general exercises. It is important to eliminate any dysfunction before you move on to the maintenance stages of the program. By trying the stretches and mobilizations, the professional can identify muscles, or even specific areas of the body, that hold more tension than others.
At the introduction of these exercises, the stretches and exercises are listed in a recommended sequence. This list explains the purpose of the stretch and exercise order, and what the professional will be accomplishing by following them in the order provided. Prior to the course’s conclusion, tips are provided for what to look out for to prevent injury, as well as an explanation of the corrective exercises’ benefits.
What to Expect from the Correctives?
This comprehensive reference section groups the exercises, mobilizations, and stretches that should be performed on a regular basis. These exercises help to correct the various issues associated with posture. After completing an assessment, any sections that may need
improvement can be revisited. For example, the Forward Head Posture may require another read if it’s not as clear as other parts of the course.
These well thought out videos provide ample visualization of what the professional should be doing, along with a concise explanation of the muscle(s), joints and sling systems or functional chains being used. Further, the course instructor takes great care to explain how and why these functional chains are so commonly misused, whether it be the inadvertent hunching forward at the computer screen or improper breathing.
How To Achieve Balance in Your Body
Taking the professional through a step-by-step process in each video lesson, it is easy to follow along at one’s own pace regardless of skill level. The professional will have access to over a hundred videos, each with a specific purpose of correcting specific imbalances.
